Supporting companies and organisations that are working to reduce plastic use can also make a difference. Many companies are now offering sustainable alternatives to plastic products, such as refillable, closed loop or circular products, compostable, dissolvable or biodegradable options, or products packaged in glass, aluminium, paper, cardboard or wood like bamboo. By supporting these companies and promoting their products, we can encourage the use of more sustainable materials.
How is Glass Recycled?March 12, 2023
When glass is recycled, it is first collected and sorted by colour. Clear, green, brown, blue and red glass can all be recycled, but must be separated because they have different melting temperatures and cannot be mixed. The sorted glass is then crushed into small pieces, known as cullet, and cleaned to remove any impurities.
