HERO BOTANICAL INGREDIENT

Aloe vera, latin name aloe barbadensis, is a succulent plant that offers many benefits in everyday skincare, and is suitable for the treatment of damaged or broken skin. Anyone who has applied a cool layer of aloe after sunburn can tell of its gentle, calming effect, but this natural plant also has many everyday benefits.

Aloe vera is a popular ingredient in natural luxury skin care, and for good reason – it’s no wonder some of my favourite products contain it. When you come across moisturising skin care products, you will notice an ingredient that pops up again and again: aloe vera.

Famously hydrating & nourishing, aloe vera contains anti-aging antioxidants, enzymes, and vitamins A and C. Aloe also acts as an antibacterial, antifungal agent that can repair and recover skin throughout the day, making it ideal for everyday use.

Aloe vera can be used topically by people with all skin types both in winter and summer. When applied locally, it helps to cool and hydrate, helps to heal abrasions, cuts and minor burns like sun burn, providing a protective barrier. So when it comes to choosing a product that contains the ingredients your skin needs, look for aloe vera on the ingredients list.

If you have sunburn or minor burns, you can gently apply aloe vera or an aloe-rich moisturiser directly to the area to help it heal naturally. If using an aloe-based moisturiser or lotion be sure to choose one without irritating colours or fragrances. You can also alleviate mild, moderate and severe sunburns by applying pure aloe vera gel directly to the skin. If you use it as a burn treatment, apply it to the affected area as soon as possible. Cooling it in the fridge prior to application can help with reducing your skin temperature when it feels hot to touch.

In addition, aloe vera gel is known for its ability to moisturise the skin without leaving residues, as heavy creams can sometimes. As there is almost no water, it helps the skin absorb and retain moisture.

Note: Aloe vera is not a cure for specific skin conditions and you should consult your doctor or dermatologist first.

Aloe vera is a key ingredient in all Azur Pure cleansers and moisturisers.
